GTA names Subramanian Muniasamy Chief Technology Officer

Subramanian (Subi) Muniasamy joins the Georgia Technology Authority as Chief Technology Officer, effective January 1, 2024.

"Subi comes to GTA with proven expertise in executing large-scale modernization efforts in state government," said GTA Executive Director and State Chief Information officer Shawnzia Thomas. "From strategy to implementation, he has the skills and experience to build on Georgia's recent successes in migrating state applications to cloud environments. Subi shares GTA's commitment to providing secure, reliable technology services for the state."

Mr. Muniasamy is currently the Chief Information Officer at the Georgia Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire, where he established a strategic roadmap and implemented the Georgia Insurance Management System (GIMS) in the Salesforce platform, providing efficient access to various insurance services.

Prior to joining Georgia state government, Mr. Muniasamy served as the Executive Director of the Maryland Total Human Services Integrated Network (MD THINK) initiative. The ambitious technology modernization initiative led to the establishment of a secured multi-tenant cloud-based shared services platform that helped improve service delivery for children, families, and communities.

Mr. Muniasamy held other roles in Maryland state government, including CTO of the Department of Human Services and CIO of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, and he has many years of private-sector experience with Deloitte Consulting, Optum, and CGI Federal.

He holds a BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, India and an MBA in Leadership from Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. He holds active Project Management Professional (PMP) and Information Technology and Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications.
